A little bit of history - bubble wrap was invented by Marc Chavannes and Alfred Fielding who set up Sealed Air in 1960 (now a major Jiffy competitor). BubbleWrap (no space) became a trademarked brand of Sealed Air Corporation with IBM becoming its first client and used the product to protect the IBM 1401 computer during shipment. Sealed Air recently celebrated Bubble Wrap's 50th birthday in January 2010.
