Blister Packaging – It’s New and So Simple!

Cardboard boxes have the advantage of providing solid protection, but easily seeing what’s inside is difficult without resorting to complicated cut-outs.

Polythene bags, on the other hand, while undoubtedly crystal clear, are somewhat soft and flexible, and when used to package small items can be easy to steal from a shop.

Have you ever thought how good it would be if you could have the best of both worlds?

Well, now you can.

Welcome to the world of blister packaging!
You may not immediately know the term, or its other commonly used name, which is ‘clamshell packaging’, but you’ll certainly know the sort of thing I’m talking about. You may even have got wrap rage with some versions, where the manufacturer’s main criteria seems to have been to make them as difficult to get into as possible.

Blister packaging is basically a solid plastic box which protects the contents from things like dust and moisture – making them especially useful for small electrical parts, wires and connectors – but also lets you see what they are at the same time. It’s an increasingly popular solution for displaying goods in retail stores, where they also like them because they’re harder to steal or tamper with than polybags.

You’ve almost certainly bought a blister pack at some time and had to fight your way in with a knife or pair of scissors. It can be so difficult at times, that not only has the term ‘wrap rage’ been coined to describe the frustration engendered by the reaction to trying to get into such a box, it’s even estimated that over 6000 Americans each year need to go to casualty as a result of injuries sustained while trying to get into such packages.

You’ll be pleased to know that ours aren’t like that!

You won’t get mad with a Davpack blister pack!
If you buy a blister pack from Davpack, you can rest assured that neither you nor your customer will be at risk when you come to open it. In fact, they can be used time and time again if required, thanks to the clever clip-shut closure system (although they can be heat sealed if you want the added security for your product that brings).

We’ve got 11 sizes available for delivery within just three working days, although plenty more sizes are available with a lead time of only a few days more. And each one comes with a Euro slot for easy display – if you’re not sure what one of those is, it’s a hole punched into the plastic shaped like this:

Another thing with our blister packaging which should keep you happy is that it is not only made from recycled mineral water bottles, but is fully and easily recyclable. That makes it a lot more environmentally friendly than you might have been expecting it to be!

We’re really excited about this new addition to the Davpack range and think it’s going to be a big hit. If you think blister packaging might be just what you need for your product, then you can order online now.
