Cash Register: Arguments with a till

Like everything else, the modern supermarket cash register has its good and bad points. I can see, from the management point of view, how it’s probably quicker, more accurate and less prone to operator error or mischief. But more than a couple of minutes in a queue and the incessant ‘beep! beep!’ of the scanner starts to get to me; I couldn’t put up with it all day.

Thankfully, there are still many places where a scanner will never be practical or appropriate – second-hand shops and pet shops spring to mind, or anywhere where a service is being sold rather than a product. And, although the modern ‘manual’ till is very different from those from years gone by (we’re talking the sort that would regularly assault Ronnie Barker in Open All Hours), it does at least require the operator to engage some brain cells when using it.

Tills – haven’t found what you’re looking for?

The cash registers available from Davpack come packed with the sort of features any good electronic till should. These are features designed to save you time, such as price look ups, variable tax rates and a comprehensive analysis of the day’s trade at the push of a button or two, as opposed to poring over ledgers into the early hours of the morning.

Our cash tills are made by big-name companies, such as Sharp, Casio and Samsung. And, this being Davpack, we can sell them cheaper and get them to you quicker than almost anyone else, with the added bonus of buying from a company you know you can trust (check our ratings on Amazon and TrustPilot to see what hundreds of happy customers think of our service!).

Discover the shop tills at Davpack by visiting the Retail Packaging section of our website or calling 01332 821200. They’re great value and will never try and pick an argument with you or your customers – guaranteed!
