Coloured Mailing Bags: All the colours of the rainbow. Sort of.
There are two scientifically accepted ways of remembering the colours of the rainbow. The first is the clever mnemonic Richard Of York Gave Battle In Vain (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet), and it has to be said that this is generally regarded as being the most accurate. But not at Davpack.
No, for both artistic and postal packaging reasons, we prefer to remember them by singing the song ‘I Can Sing a Rainbow’, famously recorded by Cilla Black in 1966; it goes:
Red and yellow and pink and green,
Purple and orange and blue,
I can sing a rainbow,
Sing a rainbow, Sing a rainbow too.
Now, the more perceptive among you will have noticed some key differences between the two sets of colours, namely that Cilla has substituted pink and purple for indigo and violet. She’s also got them in entirely the wrong order, but that is of minor significance. It would never have scanned otherwise.
What is surely not coincidental is that she just happens to list all the colours in which you can buy our polythene postal bags, except for black, white and grey. They are definitely not in the rainbow, so she covered them in her subsequent and less celebrated recording, ‘I Can Sing an Old Charlie Chaplin Film’.
So, if you want to get some attractively coloured postage bags to make your next mailing really stand out, and just can’t remember what colours we stock, you can take a look at our website, or why not give our Sales team a call on 01332 821 200 and whoever you get to speak to will be more than happy to sing the answer to you.
