When we start stocking or selling new packaging materials, it’s my job to write about them for our website. That means that I need to make sure that a product’s functions and features are as clearly stated as possible, and all its advantages spelt out so any potential buyer can make a rational and informed decision. We try not to go in for any kind of oversell at Davpack, because we want our Customers to base their decisions on facts, not marketing spiel.

It’s not always an easy job; trying to describe an item that’s only slightly different to something we already stock in a new and interesting way can often be challenging (polythene bags that are the same size and shape, and have exactly the same function, but which are made from thicker plastic are a good example; postal bags in a new colour are another!).

Occasionally, however, a new product comes along that makes the job simple, because it’s so obviously the result of some smart thinking, and its benefits are so easy to extol, that the opportunity to wax lyrical about it becomes almost a pleasure. Such was the case with these edge and corner protectors.

Long lasting roll-on protection

The first thing that strikes you is that they’re going to be a lot easier to store than our other cardboard edge protectors. The second is that there is likely to be a lot less waste; although the other protectors do come in a wide range of useful sizes (from 500 to 2000mm), how many items are so conveniently sized that some cutting down and inevitable loss won’t be needed?

But where it really scores is the added flexibility it gives you, especially the roll with the slits cut in. Because these allow you to protect curved items (round dining tables, for example) in a way that no other edge protectors we sell can. They also mean you can go round sharp corners, so you don’t have to keep cutting anything down to fit – you just use exactly as much as you need to!

It won’t be suitable for everyone – the cardboard is just 1mm thick – but for general applications, its ease and speed of use, versatility and exceptional value have made it a rapid favourite with many of our Customers.
