The wonderful world of social media

Not content with sharing our musings on packaging supplies and products with you via this blog, we’re also now to be found holding forth on Davpack’s social media sites.

To many, social media begins and ends with Facebook and seems to consist mainly of someone you met at a party a few years ago telling you what they had for breakfast or who they fancy on Big Brother. We promise never ever to do either of these things.

We do have a Facebook page, and we can also be found on Twitter, Google Plus, Pinterest, YouTube and LinkedIn. But why, you might be wondering, are we doing this?

Well, obviously it’s not just because we haven’t got anything better to do. The number of you coming to us for your packaging seems to be growing all the time, so we’re continuously busy just keeping up with getting all your orders out!

The main reason is because is it’s a great way of communicating with our customers and industry partners! And we’re spreading ourselves across several sites, because different people use different platforms for different reasons. And the more we can share with you and talk to you, the more we find out about you and your business, and the more you find out about us and what we can do for you, we hope we’ll become even better packaging suppliers!

Sometimes we even get ideas for new products after talking with our customers, one case in point being our Post Saver Postal Boxes – they’re the ones specifically designed to fit through a standard UK letter box.

You’ll find mainly technical information on Google Plus, while our chatty and social side will be to the fore on Facebook. We’ll be putting the most gorgeous pictures of cardboard boxes and bubble wrap in the world on to Pinterest (once our multitalented in-house photographer, designer and web maestro Olivia has got our latest catalogue off to print) and Twitter will act as something of a signpost, telling you where all the latest stuff is to be found. We’re aiming to get some product demo videos up on YouTube and LinkedIn will be a great place for finding company contacts.

Twitter’s also the most likely place to hear about any sales or one-day special deals we’re running, while any of the aforementioned sites could be the gateway to a unique offer just for our Followers and Friends! So please Like, Follow and +1 us – you can do so via the buttons just below this blog. And don’t forget to leave your thoughts, comments and questions as well. As someone once said, it’s good to talk!
