When is a cardboard box not a cardboard box?
Well, actually, if you’re going to be strictly accurate, never. Regardless of whether it’s an 0201, an 0409 or an 0351 (that’s an octagonal box with a separate lid, by the way), a cardboard box is pretty much always a cardboard box – the clue’s in the name. They may have different shapes, strengths, uses, advantages and methods of construction, but at heart they’re made up of cardboard walls, a cardboard base and a cardboard lid.
The point I’m trying to make – in my now traditionally verbose and long-winded way – is that when we at Davpack say that we do custom cardboard boxes, you really needn’t feel restricted by linguistics.
Custom cardboard sheets
We already sell a splendid range of single and double wall cardboard sheets at more than splendid prices. The sizes we keep in stock have not been randomly chosen, by the way – they usually directly relate to pallet sizes, because using them to add stability to a well stacked pallet, and thus increase the load capacity, is a popular application.
Also common is using cardboard sheets as layer pads within boxes. They add extra cushioning protection and allow products to be stacked, stored and transported safely within the same carton. And in the same way that we can’t stock cardboard boxes that are just the right size for every single product, neither can we keep ready made sheets for each possible size of box.
Board arrives with us in 2.45m2 sheets and if you want to keep costs to an absolute minimum, we’d be more than happy to send them to you to cut to the size you need yourself. But we have the tools to cut them quickly and neatly, so if you want your sheets to look professionally made, the small extra costs involved should prove more than worthwhile.
Box dividers
While layer pads divide horizontally, boxes can also be divided vertically using cardboard cell dividers. Our 6 and 12 bottle boxes are perfect examples. Cell dividers stop glasses, mugs, jars and bottles rattling against each other – and maybe breaking – while being transported; getting the right size is therefore vital to ensure maximum stability and minimum damage. (Tip: just tell us the dimensions of your intended contents – or send us a sample – and we’ll work out the rest for you!)
For all your bespoke cardboard needs, whether they be boxes, sheets or dividers, Davpack can provide a practical, speedy and cost effective solution. Our knowledgeable Sales team will be more than happy to discuss your requirements and help you arrive at the best packaging for your business. So why not call us today on 0844 800 9844?
